Masks and solidarity

In some Italian regions, wearing a face protection that covers the nose and mouth is already an obligation, which will probably extend to the whole country with the launch of the so-called "Phase 2". Unfortunately, in recent months the problem of the shortage of these protective devices has not been resolved, which in a short time have become almost unavailable if not at extremely higher prices.

Fortunately, the solidarity initiatives were not long in coming and multiplied throughout Italy: to give an answer to the population, tailors and seamstresses of all ages got to work and started sewing cotton masks, or in TNT, non-woven fabric.

Just as happened in our factory in Melpignano (LE), the Tessitura del Salento, temporarily converted to the exclusive production of masks for civil use.
